Anti-Bullying Presentation - Survey

Dear Parents/Guardians:

On November 15th, 2016, your child will be participating in a presentation on behalf of the Essex County Diversion Program. Otherwise known as Youth Diversion, our non-profit organization aims to encourage youth to develop skills that promote and support a positive response to self, others and the community by fostering values such as integrity, responsibility and commitment.

Please note that your child will be attending the Beyond Bullying school presentation.
The Beyond Bullying presentation is adapted from an evidence based program that is designed to help teens understand the risks involved to themselves and others when it comes to bullying. Bullying behavior has been linked to other forms of anti-social behavior such as vandalism, shoplifting, skipping and dropping out of school, fighting and the use of drugs and alcohol. Many students are unaware their behaviors are bullying, the legal consequences of those behaviors and the devastating effects to everyone involved. The goal of this presentation is to teach youth to use alternative methods to resolve problems rather than using bullying behaviors and to educate them about bullying, bias based offenses and hate crimes. Providing young people with this opportunity reduces the likelihood of them partaking in this type of behavior.

Two weeks prior to your child’s participation, it is a requirement of our funding that a Parent/Guardian complete a short online survey through our survey company, Forum Research Inc. The purpose of administering the surveys is to better measure the impact that our presentation will have on your child.

Please follow the link below to complete the survey by November 15th 2016.

If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact our Office at your earliest convenience.

On behalf of the Essex County Diversion Program, we thank you for your participation.
